In-home PT questions by Florida city
The answers below are the same in every city we cover. Below them, find your city to read the questions specific to where you live.
Questions every Florida city asks
- How do I start in-home physical therapy in my Florida city?
- A patient, a family member, or a treating physician contacts our intake team. On that call we confirm the home address, the injury, and the auto insurance details, then check coverage before anything is scheduled.
- How soon is the first home visit?
- Most requests are typically scheduled within 48 hours of intake. We match you with a Florida-licensed clinician who already covers your county and confirm a visit window that works for your household.
- What happens at the first visit?
- The first visit is a full evaluation — range of motion, strength, pain response, and safe movement through your own home. There is no clinic, no driving, and no waiting room.
- What happens after the evaluation?
- Your clinician builds a progressive plan, leaves a home program to do between visits, and documents progress for your treating physician.
- How long is a visit, and how much space do I need?
- Visits run roughly 45 to 60 minutes and need about the floor space of a living-room rug.
- Do I need to buy any equipment?
- No. Your therapist brings what the session needs — resistance bands, balance and gait equipment, and treatment supplies.
- Can a family member be there?
- Yes. A family member or caregiver is welcome to sit in and learn the home program with you.
- What if I stay with family or move during my care?
- Clinicians in each city work alongside the rest of our county coverage, so a patient who moves, stays with family after a crash, or lives on a county line still keeps the same plan of care.
- How is in-home PT paid for?
- Care for crash-related injuries is billed to auto insurance. PT Near Me does not bill regular health insurance or Medicare. Our intake team checks coverage on the first call.
