Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Jobs in St. Petersburg, FL — In-Home

Posted August 14, 2026 · PT Near Me · Contract / PRN / Part-time · Pay $60–70/hr

St. Pete's growing population of older adults and active retirees creates strong, year-round in-home rehab demand — from total joints to balance and fall-prevention work to crash recovery along I-275 and 4th Street North. PTAs here see less freeway driving than their Tampa-side counterparts.

From a St. Petersburg home base, our PTAs typically reach Gulfport, Pinellas Point, Snell Isle, Tyrone, Pinellas Park, and into Seminole and Kenneth City. The Sunshine Skyline visits stay short, and you build deep continuity of care with neighbors who refer their neighbors.

Job description

PT Near Me is a Florida in-home physical therapy company. Our own licensed clinicians treat injury and post-accident patients one-on-one in their homes. We're hiring a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team and deliver skilled therapy in patients' homes — a strong fit for a motivated PTA who values autonomy, flexible scheduling, and patient-centered care, with competitive per-visit pay, hours you set, and the freedom to add visits whenever you want. We handle scheduling and the administrative back-office so you can focus on treating.

What you'll do

  • Deliver skilled treatment under a PT-authored plan of care in patients' homes — therapeutic exercise, mobility and gait training, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and trigger-point techniques.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, mobility strategies, and safety.
  • Document each visit accurately and communicate progress to the supervising PT.
  • Keep every home visit safe and professional.
  • Treat a range of cases — post-accident, post-surgical, and chronic-condition patients.

What you need

  • Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program.
  • Active Florida PTA license (or license-eligible).
  • Knowledge of outpatient/home rehab techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to manage your time and service area independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for helping patients regain function at home.
  • Home-based care experience preferred.

What we offer

  • Competitive per-visit pay (rates discussed by region during intake).
  • Flexible scheduling — set your own hours and caseload.
  • Minimal commute — patients in their homes, near you.
  • Scheduling and administrative back-office handled for you.
  • Supportive team and streamlined documentation tools.

Job type: Contract / PRN / Part-time. Specialty: Home Health / in-home rehab. Location: On the road, in patients' homes.

Florida-licensed PTs and PTAs.
